Greater Yellowstone

Greater Yellowstone is the large green area that is dwelled by a number of various animal species. It is located in the United States where is the important natural resource of the world because almost extinct animals exist and it is the headwaters of three national largest rivers which are then Columbia, the Colorado and the Mississippi. More over it is the route of mammal migrants. Some of this land are not protected appropriately for animals' living. Each year over millions of people visit there (The Nature Conservancy, 2010).

The first important reason why I chose this article because it relates to my topic which is Ecotourism. Besides, Greater Yellowstone is the popular place in the world, especially in the United States. Currently, the perfect natural place as this are rarely found because many of them are irrupted by humans.

After I read this matter, I think people should concentrate on the environment more seriously. If people constant intruding wildlife’s habitats, the cycle of their living will change permanently. It also impact on the other living things in the world. Instead of wasting natural resources as humans do in these days, people should protect and change the ways of exploit the nature from now on.

Ecotourism Statistical Fact Sheet

The reason why I interested this article because in this article there are several informations which relate to ecotourism. They had infomations from past until last decade. They can define that which status who usally paricipate in ecotourism.

According to The World Tourism Organization (1999), they estimated that there were over 663 million international travelers. It worth more than 453 billion dollars and grow by 4.1 percent next 20 years. It reaching 1.6 billion travelers in 2020. It make nearly 200 million jobs or 10 percent of global job. Since 1988 until 1994 it grown from 393 million travelers or 336 billion dollars to 528.4 million travelers or 416 billions dollars. Most travelers had this appearances which are middle age, men equal to women and high education. They prefer to go wildernes setting, wildlife viewing and hiking or treaking . In South Africa, from 1986 until last decade, it grown from 454,428 travelers to 5,898,000 travelers. It grown 1o8 percent per year.(The International Ecotourism Society, 2000).

In my opinion, according to the article they show that ecotourism is effecting to economics in those countries. They show that tourism helps people have more job than no tourism.

Ecotourism Examples

The reason why I interested this article because there are several activities that I never known it. Those activities seem interesting and exiting. It hard to find places to participate those activities.

Ecotourism is a way to find out a personal interesting. There are a lot of choices that tourists can choose for doing a favorite activity. It is a chance to know what exactly they are interested in. For example, volcano watching is an outdoor activity that people can see every process of the volcano explosion. Besides, tourists will be more enjoyable by climbing for watching the amazing scenes. Another activity is ecolodging. It facilitates tourists to stay closely with nature. Everything that they do is friendly to environment. They can learn and know more about nature while doing the activity. Recording local cultures, whale watching, bird breeding, farm holidays and heading north are some other environmental perfect activities that are included in the ecotourism (Reyes, 2010).

In my opinion, if most people participate in this activities or other ecotourism activities. I can sure that they will like it and keep their participation for save wildlife and wild places, but ecotourism also have bad things behind those good action.

Ecotourism: Green problem or green solution?

The reason why I am interested in this article is because I love to travel like this kind and I want to know that if I support other people to join the Ecotourism, it is going to be positive or negative on the nature.

The Travelling that can preserve wildlife and nature is called Ecotourism. Its purpose is to do outdoor activities in the natural places such as seeing birds . But some people do not think that is really good for environment. They think it also can decay the quality of wildlife and wild places. In case of the Galapagos, a number of tourists has increased every year ,and this impacts to wildlife’s living. People has developed the island without the awareness of its consequences. People merge to replace the wild places. Another important problem is carbon dioxide emission. If people around the world are interested to go enjoying these activities and the places that they have to go are not in their countries or continents, they have to fly to the destination. In each flight, a plane have to spend a plenty of fuel and emit carbon. This is a major factor that destroys the atmosphere. All in all, no one can treat the nature as well as it does.

In my opinion, ecotourism is another way to travel with less damage to the environment. There are several activities that we can participate, but those activities still have the gap between good and bad things (Mother Nature Network, 2009).
